Intro to Audio/Visual Production

Semester
6/7/8 Grade

Intro to Audio/Visual Production provides students with the knowledge and skills necessary for television, video, film, and/or radio production. Students will learn scriptwriting, camera operation, use of graphics and other visuals, lighting, audio techniques, editing, production principles, and career opportunities. Students are usually required to produce their own program or segment. Additional topics may include broadcast industry regulations, radio/TV operation, power of the medium, photography, and transmission technology. Career exploration and leadership development will be emphasized throughout the course.

Current Events

Semester
6/7/8 Grade

Current events expose students to various types of social media and examine how social media has influenced society. In our multimedia world, digital citizens need the skills to critically evaluate and creatively produce media for print, as well as in audio and visual formats. This course teaches students how to apply critical thinking skills to a wide range of issues. It will also provide students with the skills necessary to effectively produce positive media. 

 

Publication Production: Yearbook

Semester
7/8 Grade

This course provides students with the knowledge and skills necessary to produce the school yearbook. Students will learn interviewing skills, photography, caption writing, graphic design, and how to stick to deadlines.
