Physical Education classes

​Physical Education/ Lifetime Fitness Education

Semester
6/7/8 Grades

Lifetime Fitness Education courses emphasize acquiring knowledge and skills regarding lifetime physical fitness; content may include topics such as nutrition, F.I.T.T. principal, and the 5 health areas. Students may develop and implement a personal fitness plan. Students will be learning team and individual activities for lifetime fitness.

Students participate in cardio workouts, weight lifting, student led workouts, boot camp.. Students wear heart rate monitors during cardio workouts to monitor their effort. Heart rates are projected during class for students to determine if they need to work harder, maintain or slow down.



All Girls Physical Education

Semester
6/7/8 Grades

This PE program provides each female with the opportunity to participate in a comprehensive program consisting of skill development, lead up games, team sports and physical fitness activities. The students receive instruction in resistance training, yoga, spin and other activities that promote physical fitness. Additionally, this class specifically provides female students a positive environment in which to be physically active, build confidence/self-esteem, and promote cooperation,
leadership and friendly competition. Both 7th and 8th grade female students are encouraged to take this class.
