Creative Art - Drawing (Art 2D)

Semester
6/7/8 Grade

Students work with several different mediums (such as pen-and-ink, graphite pencil, charcoal,  chalk, etc). Students learn about artists and different ways to express themselves visually. Students learn to draw realistic objects such as human portraits, animals, and objects with a focus on shading.

Creative Art - Sculpture (Art 3D)


Semester
 
6/7/8 Grade

Students explore three-dimensional art such as ceramics, jewelry, and sculpture. Different media and processes including low fire pottery, jewelry, metals, paper mache, and plaster are explored. Students learn about artists and different ways to express themselves visually. The process of developing ideas through journaling and sketchbooks is emphasized.

Visual Arts Level II


Semester 
7/8 Grade

Completion of either Creative Art class is the prerequisite to be in this course. Advanced Art will allow students who have demonstrated technical skills to begin exploring their own art interests. The goal of this course is to prepare students for advanced high school art classes by helping them build a varied portfolio and find their artistic voice.
