Library Services

Co-teaching and collaboration--We are happy to have your classes in the library for instruction. Shoot me an e-mail about your lesson or stop by to talk and I can help you with resources and arrange to teach your students how to use our online databases and how to find information in our library and others. I can even work up an online Pathfinder for them to use for resources.

Reservations--Submit a technology request to come to the library.

Library --This is an ideal place for large classes or to have students rehearse or practice presentations. This is reserved by sending in a technology request.

Books--We are happy to pull books and deliver them to your classroom for you to use and happier still if you bring your classes to the library to use them!

Databases--Jefferson County Public Library has a well-rounded set of databases. A JCPL library card is required.  Please see us if you need help with this.

e-Books--New this year is the Follett shelf.  Here is where students and staff can access our e-books.  Access to this resource is located on the Need a Book page or Resource page.

Tech and Website help--We are always available to help you with your questions. Call, e-mail or stop by. If you want to build a website and need help getting started, that's us. If it is a computer hardware problem, call us or put in a work order. If you have a problem and don't know who to call or what to do, call or e-mail us and we'll figure out what needs to be done.

Resources--Please let me know if there are resources you think we should have! We are always looking for suggestions for book, AV or database purchases.

Study Hall and Students from classes--Do not send more than five students to the library without calling first to make sure we can accommodate them. They must have a pass and present it when they arrive. If you have a lesson that requires a permission slip, students who have not procured permission can come to the library. Please give us advance warning, a list of student names so we can check them off at the desk and make sure they have work to do.

Student Assistants--If you have a student assistant and have nothing for them to do, you may send them to the library to help us. We can always use students to clean tables and shelve books. They should have a pass.

Equipment--We have extra battery chargers, digital camera, tripods, document cameras and other items for teachers to use. Equipment must be checked out by a teacher and is usually checked out for three consecutive days or five random days at a time.
