Family and Consumer Science Classes

FACS I: Family and Consumer Science

6/7/8 Grade

Students will obtain knowledge and skills that are useful for the efficient and productive management of the home. Course topics typically include foods and nutrition; clothing; child development and care; housing design, decoration, and maintenance; consumer decisions and personal finance; and interpersonal relationships.

FACS II: Family and Consumer Science

***Passing grade in Family and Consumer Science I is the prerequisite to be in this course.***
7/8 Grade

FACS I is the prerequisite to be in this course. FACS II provides an understanding of food's role in society, instrucion in how to plan and prepare meals, experience in the proper use of equipment and utensils, and background on the nutritional needs and requirements for healthy living. This course exposes students to opportunities related to the Hospitality and Tourism career cluster.
